The grand 24-day feast for sight and sound kicked off on the 27th, October to the 19th, November. The LED and lighting event was held in Huacheng Square in the vicinity of Zhujiang New Town subway station.
First held in 2011, Guangzhou International Light Festival has been ranked as one of the world’s top 3 lighting events with other counterparts Lyon Festival of Lights in France and Australian light festival in Sydney.
The theme of the 2017 Guangzhou Lighting Show is “Silk Road Legend”, highlighted by an amazing illuminated laser light casting on Guangzhou’s iconic Canton Tower, displaying images of ancient Guangzhou’s role as birthplace of Maritime Silk Road and modernization.
The festival features five major parts to gain a better understanding about Guangzhou’s past and future: Light of the City, Light of the Sea, Light of the Economy, Light of Technology and Light of the Future.
