The Guangdong woolen market is located at the intersection of Guanzhang and Changping highways in Dongguan City. Covering an area of two hectares, it is currently a well-known distribution center for woolen raw materials and products in China. Since its establishment and opening in the winter of 1995, Dalang woolen products have been soaring into popularity in areas such as Shenzhen, Huizhou, Shantou, etc., and have also been sold to North China and Northeast China. Last year, only the three northeastern provinces purchased goods from Dalang with a turnover of 2 billion yuan (Hong Kong dollars). 1.86 billion yuan).
Businessmen travel south to participate in the Guangdong woolen products exhibition held in Dalang in December every year. The Guangdong woolen clothing market is closely related to the rise of Dalang woolen industry. Twenty-two years ago, the No. 1 Wool Weaving Factory invested by Hong Kong people in Dalang was the first woolen weaving business in Dalang Town. Dalang farmers learned skills while working for the Hong Kong company. As a result, they left the Hong Kong-owned factories one after another and set up “mom-and-pop shops” and “father-son factories” to process woolen fabrics with supplied materials, which became the local pillar industries.
On the first floor, there are more than 120 shops displaying all kinds of colorful woolen underwear and coats ranging from traditional warm sweaters to woolen fashion brands suitable for all seasons. Most of them are medium and low-end products. There are currently 58 shops on the third floor. In 2001, the market turnover reached 310 million yuan (HK$288.3 million). Sales are generally carried out in cash, and individual orders are placed through letters of credit, ranging from thousands of pieces (sets) to tens of thousands of pieces (sets).
